Have you ever taken time to think about successful people and how they became successful? If you haven’t, stop for a moment and picture the most successful person you can think of. Now what did you notice?

If you pay close attention, you’ll discover that one of the things that makes that person incredibly successful is their ability to use their time efficiently, so they are now able to form the right habits and execute the right activities that enable them accomplish their goals. These people have the same 24 hours in a day that you have, which is perhaps, the only thing the person has in common with you.

The amazing part of it is that, the moment you wake up, you have a clean slate. No matter who you were the day before, or what happened, or even what you did, the moment you open your eyes, you have a brand new beginning. Full control and power to direct your life the way you want it. You must learn how to use this valuable resource because you can never get it back.

Here are 3 tips to having a more productive day:

Setting goals give you something to look forward to, something to work towards. Goals allow you to measure your progress. Top-level athletes, successful businesspeople, and achievers in all fields all set goals. Setting goals give you long-term vision and short-term motivation. It focuses your acquisition of knowledge and helps you to organize your time and your resources so that you can make the most of your life. As a brand, our goal is to be the go-to place when people think about web solutions worldwide, and that is why we work hard and improve ourselves every day to get there. So you see, goal setting is necessary.

What this means is that at the start of every day, you write out the things you want to do, the tasks you want to accomplish before the end of the day. When I learned about this at first at Epower, I thought it was a waste of time because come on, who wants to take the time to write out everything they want to accomplish daily? But over time when I started practicing, I discovered that my days became more organized, I can now cross the completed tasks off my deliverables and know that I did something tangible. The whole essence of this is that you get to see your report card at the end of the day and no one will have to tell you if you wasted the day or not. You get to judge yourself by yourself. Isn’t that great?

Sorting items or activities in order of importance really helps in having a more organized and productive day. How? When you have a list of all your deliverables laid out right in front of you, sort it from most important to the least important. When it comes to prioritizing, there’s no space to be sentimental…your tasks have to come first, it’s when you might have completed almost all of your primary tasks that you should consider adding someone else’s.

Incorporating these tips in my everyday life took me several months and even today, I am continually optimizing them to make sure that I am aware of how productive my day is and how to make it even more productive.

Yes, every once in a while one or two distractions may occur, but I always ensure to find my way back.

Do not try these tips just once or once a month. We become what we repeatedly do. Act on these tips and see a huge spike in your productivity. Get productive and watch yourself do epic stuff.
